Jackie brings a warm, hands-on understanding of what Burbank families are going through, shaped by her own life here in Burbank as a renter, a homeowner, and a small business owner. She has served on the Burbank Landlord-Tenant Commission, working directly on the housing and rent challenges facing renters and property owners alike. Long before running for office, Jackie was the neighbor people called for help finding resources or making sense of a confusing system. As a small business owner and a landlord herself, Jackie approaches local governance with fiscal responsibility, compassion, and hands-on problem solving for the people she serves.
“I’ve lived the same struggles as my neighbors — rising rent, tight budgets, wondering if we can afford to stay,” Waltman said. “That’s why affordable housing and rent stabilization come first. I’m not here to lecture anyone. I’m here to listen and help.”
