A Burbank story

Jackie graduated from John Burroughs High School and has called Burbank home ever since. Early in her career, she worked at a major record label in an era of legendary artists — a chapter she still smiles about — but Burbank has always been the place she calls home. She married her high school sweetheart, raised their daughter here, and watched her graduate from Burbank High — complete with plenty of good-natured rivalry during homecoming season.

Rooted in the community

Jackie has lived in many parts of Burbank, both as a renter and a homeowner — giving her a firsthand understanding of what it’s like on both sides of a lease. She played in women’s softball leagues, coached girls’ softball at the city parks, bowled in leagues at Pickwick, and led a local Bluebird group. This is a woman who shows up — to games, to community meetings, to city commissions, and to her neighbors’ front doors.

A problem-solver by trade

Jackie’s working life has been spent helping people navigate hard systems and find real solutions — connecting families to the resources they need, cutting through red tape, and getting things done when the system wasn’t working the way it should. She’s also built and run her own small businesses in Burbank, including women’s fitness studios and a local salon, and she’s owned rental property here and in Los Angeles — experience that gives her a practical, ground-level understanding of what both renters and small housing providers are dealing with.

Service to Burbank

Jackie currently chairs the Burbank Civil Service Committee and has served on the Burbank Landlord-Tenant Commission — direct, hands-on experience with exactly the housing issues at the center of her campaign. She’s also given her time to the community in other ways: volunteering with a local suicide prevention hotline, tutoring kids in a nearby housing project, and serving on the board of a community health center.

Why she’s running

“I’ve spent my life solving problems and helping people who needed someone in their corner,” Jackie says. “I know how local government can work for people — and how it can fail them. I’m running because Burbank families deserve a City Council member who actually listens, and who will fight to keep this a place we can all afford to call home.”
